of president obama there's no end in sight. if he's serious about tackling the debt, he'd be talking about reining in spending, but he's hell-bent on one thing, raising your taxes. by the way, don't dare thing for one minute, or believe the hype, that this is only going to affect the so-called rich. this white house is willing to put any and all tax breaks on the table, including letting the payroll tax cut expire. that would move would affect all americans. watch this. >> there are many tax provisions that are expiring at the end of the year, and the president has said that the payroll tax cut, among others, should be on the table. you look at a permanent extension of the middle class tax cuts, the economic effects are different. >> sean: if the payroll tax cut is on the chopping block, nothing is safe. all americans, regardless of how much money you make, you'll be affected. joining us to give us the republicans' view on some of the things, somebody made headlines recently when he appeared to distance himself from a longstanding pledge to oppose efforts to raise taxes, and that's republi

obama's flip flop on his philosophy there when it comes to raising the debt ceiling. he certainly condemned president bush in those years of raising the debt ceiling, and then look at where he's taken this cufnlt he's taken us into a state of bankruptcy with his changed idea on it being a good thing to raise the debt ceiling. a very scary proposal was recently revealed by geithner essentially saying let the president have free rein on raising the debt ceiling to whatever level he wants. that's a very scary thought because barack obama is a socialist. he believes in socialis socialin redistributing wealth, in confiscating hard-earned dollars of our small businessmen and women so that they cannot reinvest their dollars and hire more people and grow and expand. instead, he believes in these failed socialist policies and i say that not to personally condemn our president, but i say it because i face reality, and i see what's going on, and i see the path that we are on and the fact that barack obama has not had a budget in the four years that he's been in office and not been worried ab

obama's reckless deficits and his reckless debt. they were elected to stop the explosive growth of government. the republicans were elected and sent to washington to fight for limited government, balanced budgets, and of course, greater liberty for all the american people. at this moment it seems like they are only offering a democratic light version for america. maybe they need to learn a thing or two from president obama. maybe they need to show a willingness to go over the so-called fiscal cliff. now, if the president really wants to take the country there, maybe they need to let him go there. here's the bottom line. what are we hearing from the white house? we're hearing the president will not negotiate unless taxes are raised on job creators, and we're hearing that the president now wants to seize control of the debt ceiling from congress. well, that means rather than needing the approval of the house was the senate to raise the nation's spending limit, president barack obama wants to do this all by his lonesome, a blank check. >> if congress in any way suggests that they'r

power to raise the federal debt limit without congressional approval. in other words, an obama blank cheque. that is not all. he also wants the estate tax to be levied at 45% on inheritances a step even democratic senators are balking on this current is 35%. the obama offer contained no serious cuts, no serious reforms to entitlement programs and no serious proposals of tax reform this president had the gall to count savings more than one billion dollars from ending wars in iraq and afghanistan no one has proposed war spending over the next decade that includes cuts to domestic programs agreed to last year, fuzzy washington math. what this is obama's propose last year which received zero votes in the house or senate this is disguised as a so-called compromise offer. don't be fooled it is no such thing. the so-called offer was nothing less than a disgrace what he did yesterday with geithner. the proposal was as dishonest and misleading as date is long. the question is, how should the gop respond to this travesty? republicans should do several things. first, do what senator mcconnell d

to believe that. >> sean: so we're about to hit this debt ceiling. 16.3 trillion, and at the time in 2008 when obama's running, he says it's irresponsible to take a credit card in the name of our kids to the bank of china. we have to pay that money back. now it's 16.3. they're running out of money once again, so republicans are saying all right, we've got to eat our spinach, we've got to eat our broccoli. we've got to study, turn off the tv, turn off the video games and do our homework. is that as appealing as democrats saying free health care, free day care, we'll redistribute the wealth. i mean, it seems like there's a battle for the heart and soul of the country. where does america come down, and where was america traditionally? >> well, first let's address president obama's flip flop on his philosophy there when it comes to raising the debt ceiling. he certainly condemned president bush in those years of raising the debt ceiling, and then look at where he's taken this cufnlt he's taken us into a state of bankruptcy with his changed idea on it being a good thing to raise the debt ceili

on house spending cuts might be a useful tool in actually tackling our debt. not surprisingly, that trend was-mile-an-hou mirrored all across the major networks. here with reaction to that report and obama's parent indifference to the approaching so-called fist colorad fist fisk stein. welcome to hannity. >> great to be with you, sir. >> i'm getting the feeling more and more every day. he wants to humiliate the republicans. >> i this is an opportunity to drive a stake through the republican party. i think his strategy all along, i said this in my book, so it's weird to see it coming true so literally is to establish 25% of gdp as the new baseline for federal spending. he needs everybody's taxes to go up, not just warren's buffett's. he can do that two ways. he can get john boehner to capitulate or he can say the hell with it, let's go off the fiscal cliff and blame the republicans. >> if he had had the top two percent pay in just a little bit more of their fair share, that would fund the government for only 8. 5 daition. it's not realistic. >> no. it's rubbish, all this. that so called b

to raise the debt ceiling. billy cunningham, we're coming up against -- >> sean, what's wrong with the fiscal cliff that obama designed? this is obama's fiscal cliff. if the republicans cave, we'll have a fiscal cliff in about three or four years that's going to be the grand canyon. we're going to go collapsing. it's going to be awful. >> sean: i agree with you. >> we got to fight like william wallace in "brave heart." fight for america. we can win it in the next 30 days. >> sean: i'm with you. leslie, seriously, why can't we have some significant spending cuts now? the president, first of all, said he only wanted $800 billion when he was running, now he's doubled it, but there's no cuts. government can't find waste, fraud, abuse, cut back on their intoxication and power grab with spending? >> i agree that medicare is one program that has a lot of fraud. quite frankly the president has been very clear that they're going to be -- >> sean: when? when? >> democrats and republicans will have to suck it up. when you guys call caving in, i call compromise. >> sean: republicans compr
